The Macmillan-NCRAS Work Plan: Releases

The projects within the Macmillan-NCRAS Work Plan aim to generate a variety of data, press and report releases to help provide us with a more thorough and granular understanding of the people in the UK currently living with and beyond cancer.

All releases

November 2022 workbook: Number of cancers by diagnosis Trust. This release summarises the number of cancers by diagnosis Trust in England using data from the National Disease Registration Service (NDRS) Cancer Analysis System (CAS). Numbers by diagnosis Trust and cancer site are provided for the rolling period 2017-2019 with additional breakdowns for age-group, index of multiple deprivation, major ethnic group and gender.
January 2021 Article: Treatable but not curable cancer in England: a retrospective cohort study using cancer registry data and linked data sets . This study estimates the prevalence of cancers that are categorised as treatable but not curable (TbnC) in England. It provides a quantification of the population and a framework to aid identification of this group to enable the design of tailored support services.
April 2020 Excel Workbook: Macmillan-NCRAS Treatable but not Curable (TbnC) Workbook – UPDATED - This workbook provides an updated breakdown of the population identified as likely to be living with Treatable but not Curable (TbnC) cancer in England. It provides estimates of the prevalence TbnC population at the end of 2015 and the 2015 TbnC incidence.
November 2019 Excel Workbook: Macmillan-NCRAS Treatable but not Curable (TbnC) Workbook – FIRST PUBLISHED ITTERATION - This workbook provides a breakdown of the population identified as likely to be living with Treatable but not Curable (TbnC) cancer in England. This is no longer the most recent output of this work please see the April 2020 Excel Workbook for the most recent update.
August 2019 Excel Workbook: Cancer Incidence by MOSAIC classification - This workbook provides a breakdown of 2016 incidence data by MOSAIC classifications, which examine demographics, lifestyles, preferences and behaviours to build detailed classifications of the England population.
