Cancer Data and Outcomes conference 2016

From enabling commissioners to provide the best care to giving patients greater power, protection and informed choice, information is central to the overall quality of each cancer patient's experience.

The new PHE National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) and United Kingdom and Ireland Association of Cancer Registries (UKIACR) Cancer Data and Outcomes Conference 2016 will explore how data is being used to drive services both locally and nationally. It will highlight how cancer data is improving the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of cancer in the UK and beyond

You will have the opportunity to hear leading experts discuss a wide range of topics from cancer prevention through early detection, treatment outcomes, patient experience, survivorship issues and end of life care with sessions on early diagnosis, health economics, therapeutic interventions, cancer in young and old people and inequalities. Posters on new findings and developments will be on view throughout the conference.

Who should attend?

The conference will have a multidisciplinary focus and aim to give participants a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas with members of the community across the cancer continuum. This includes researchers, clinicians, commissioners, allied cancer professionals, policy-makers, patients and third sector organisations.

About the PHE National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS)

In February 2016 the NCRAS brought together two key organisations; the National Cancer Registry Service and the National Cancer Intelligence Network. This merge further strengthens the link between data and outcomes – the key focus of this conference. The new NCRAS coordinates across the entire pathway of data, from collection, quality assurance, analysis and intelligence to drive improvements in prevention, standards of cancer care and clinical outcomes for cancer patients.
